Strategic Planning Goals

At its annual meeting on October 30, 2005, the Board of Directors adopted six strategic planning goals with the purpose of aligning all the Foundation's activities, structures, and resources with its mission.  These goals will serve as an operational guide for the Board and the Executive Director over the next five years.

Goal #1

To develop new ways to increase scholarly discussion of and general readership for the works of Flannery O’Connor

Goal # 2

To develop a steady stream of funding through grants, donations, and strategic partnerships

Goal # 3

To develop a clear board governance model, and from that develop criteria for the selection of Directors, develop a guideline for the role of the Directors in the functioning of the Foundation, and develop a process for ongoing Director education and assessment

Goal # 4

To acquire all assets necessary for the Foundation to carry out its mission

Goal # 5

To develop a plan to utilize assets controlled by the Foundation to further its mission and ensure its longevity

Goal # 6

To adopt a phased plan that operates according to accepted national standards for historic preservation, repair, and renovation for the development of Andalusia as a means of promoting interest in and knowledge of Flannery O’Connor as a writer and a person
